Our daughter Annabell loves interacting with people, dancing, and playing with toys. At one year old, she would scoot but would refuse to put any weight on her legs. I had to beg our pediatrician for months to get a referral. After countless medical visits, I was told that Annabell might never walk and that there may be a neurological explanation for her scooting.
We struggled for a long time to get help for our beautiful Annabell. At one point we were driving to Whittier paying $197 per session – a 15 minute session – at $8/gallon for gas. This was not sustainable for our family. When we finally got in to Tichenor, my mom accompanied us to the clinic. She was surprised as we walked up. She used to bring my brother to the clinic when he was young for treatment for club feet! She remembered all the wonderful memories and I knew this place would have an incredible impact on our lives.
Ms. Karsti was the first person to give us the help we needed. She was able to get Annabell to successfully take her first steps, pull herself up, sit on chairs, and climb over furniture. And now she doesn’t walk; she RUNS! The early intervention Development Program has been such a blessing too. From worrying about whether she would talk to hearing her sing in Spanish and use sign language – this girl is going to be CEO of a company some day!
Tichenor will always be a place of hope and chance to be something the world tells you you can’t. I can never thank Karsti and Tichenor Clinic enough. We are forever grateful for you !
