In October 2017, Oziel came to Tichenor Clinic with a ruptured ‘arteriovenous malformation’, an abnormality of the blood vessels in the brain, leading to a pressure to build up on the vessels, causing a stroke.
After the stroke, Oziel’s mother Juana, began looking for a place that could help rehabilitate her son. His right side of his brain had become injured, he couldn’t move his arms and couldn’t walk or speak well.

“My biggest concern was that he would not walk, would not talk because that’s what the doctors told me. That if he woke up from the coma that he wouldn’t be able to move, walk or talk. I held out faith to not see it as they had told me, I saw it as I see it now.” – Juana Garcia (Oziel’s mom)
He came to Tichenor Clinic and saw our physical therapist Wendy, who noted his willingness to really learn and improve and get better.
“Even though he had a very severe condition, he had the willingness to really learn and improve and get better. He really wanted to help himself.” – Wendy
Oziel is grateful for the treatment he received at Tichenor Clinic.
“Thank you for everything they have done for me, now I can walk and speak well because of them, so thank you.” – Oziel Garcia
